Comedians Mark Normand and Sam Morril are two of the sharpest stand-up voices in New York today. Beyond their sold-out shows and Netflix specials, they also co-host the hit podcast We Might Be Drunk, where they riff on life, comedy, and cocktails.

On a recent episode, the duo mixed up Black Manhattans—but with a twist. Instead of the usual amaro, they reached for See The Elephant, our modern Italian rucola amaro known for its playful bubblegum note and art-forward style was a huge hit with the guys as they called it “better than a regular” and “damn good!”

Black Manhattan

Ingredients

• 2 oz Bodega Cat Rye Whiskey

• 1 oz See The Elephant Amaro

• 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

• 2 dashes Orange Bitters

Method

1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.

2. Stir until well-chilled.

3. Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over a large cube.

4. Garnish with a cherry or an orange twist.
